Onis is poetic lightness, synergy between emptiness and matter that evokes the architecture of bridges where balance and strength intertwine in perfect symbiosis. DRAW Studio envisioned a collection of suspended containers as landscape fragments, nestled between modernity and tradition.
Bridges between time and space
With the Onis console, the quest for lightness and visual balance defies the laws of gravity and test of time.
Marble modules designed to contain, protect and organize are entirely cantilevered, evoking structures suspended between earth and sky, between the eternal strength of stone and the modern flexibility of metal—pure volumes repeated in linear sequences and supported only at the extremes by a fundamental base. Elements at play are minimal, highlighting the structural rigor, overall lightness and horizontal nature of the construction.
Essential elegance, refined versatility
The purity of Onis evolves from the containing volume extending to the base, a geometric detail that elevates the furniture to a work of art. Two L-shaped elements embrace the sides and at the back, with a delicate and elegant fold, a reference to the beauty of simplicity. The metal, treated with oxidation, acid washes or burnishin, collaborates with the stone, enhancing its refinement through the contrast of its material finishes.
The groove runs lengthwise across the entire cabinet, facilitating the opening of the fronts and echoing both the material and proportions of the bases. It is the interior though that completes the experience: each drawer is a small treasure chest, lined with leather and metal, ready for discreet storage.
