Layers of light
Dima commands attention at first glance through its architectural rigor, geometric clarity, rich materiality, and the luminous depth that courses through it. It is an object where precision meets emotion, shaping space with the pure essentiality of its form: a rectangular sculpture that thoughtfully balances solids and voids, surfaces and recesses.
The structure unfolds across multiple visual and tactile planes. Set within a lightweight, architectural aluminum frame are reclaimed marble inlays—each unique in quantity, cut, and scale. This variation produces a continually evolving composition that resonates under grazing light. It is this light that sculpts the volumes and magnifies the piece’s three-dimensional presence.
Stylistic Synthesis
On one hand, the contemporary allure of steel—with its cool, linear, and industrial surface; on the other, marble, offering tactile warmth, unique veining, and natural imperfections that render it timeless and singular.
