La Grande Muraglia 2023
Limited and numbered edition sofa / by Mario Bellini
La Grande Muraglia was born from an idea by Mario Bellini and Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, who initiated the original project in 1981. Emanuele Chicco Busnelli revisits its concept, avant-garde spirit, and design, reinterpreting the collection in a contemporary context within NEUTRA’s atelier.
Living Architectures
Like a work carved in stone that evokes a distant era. Inspired by the vision of Mario Bellini—who, in collaboration with Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, designed the original project in 1981—La Grande Muraglia returns today with renewed strength and energy, offering a fresh perspective on living, where architecture and design merge to create an immersive experience.
The unifying element between these two realms is the beauty of natural stone, which fosters harmony between space and comfort.
The sofa—available in two- and three-seater versions—is sculpted from marble: monumental and timeless. Soft, inviting volumes are seamlessly integrated into its structure, resulting in a contemporary expression of living design.
Each component is conceived as part of a domestic architecture, capable of asserting its character within a space and transforming it. The supports become pillars, the frame a lintel—forming a new design language that resonates with the sensibilities of contemporary interiors.

Between Strength and Lightness
An elegant chaise longue enriches the La Grande Muraglia collection—its form light and graceful despite the solidity of its material. Open to connection, dialogue, and everyday life, it becomes a welcoming refuge—a place to pause, unwind, and savor meaningful moments.
With its well-defined features and clean lines, this piece offers a warmer, more inviting way to experience the home. Every detail reflects balance and harmony, encouraging a slower pace, a rediscovery of the calm in daily rituals, and an appreciation for the art of taking a break.
Available in a limited and numbered edition of 50 pieces.
